Must Have

A must have mentality is often corrosive;
When out of control, it’s toxic, explosive.
It’s not just objects, you understand,
But ambitions, traditions - castles on sand.
Blind love: - that can be such a thing,
The desire, to secure, an engagement ring.
It takes people down – individuals and families,
Shakespearian blood, spilt on fantasies.
A child of the sex, that you don’t have yet,
How many attempts and who’s to regret?
You don’t have to live with you, like we do,
and suffer quiet pain: - no hullabaloo.
It could be a country, like Poland or France,
To capture them all, would take a trance
Like state. Don’t stop. Keep on at great cost,
At the end, like a game, we’ll find out who’s lost.
