Something made him giddy, as he half-walked down the road,
the other half was dancing, and he wondered if it showed?
Something made him quicker, as he half-jogged in the park,
the other half was sprinting, as if an inner spark.
Something made him taller, as he half-strode to the bar,
the other half was bouncing, as if upon a star.
Something made him kinder, as he half-talked with his mother,
the other half was soothing, as if he was another.
Something made him better, as he now lived half-alone,
the other half co-habiting, in someone else’s home.
Something made him happy, as he knocked upon her door,
his other half was coming - she made him whole and more.
